Track and field is a sport I just started freshman year of high school. I was told by my parents to try it as I was growing up, but the only other sport I did was dance, until high school. I just started spring track freshman year of high school. I was always told by my parents to try track because I was a decent runner, but the only sport I ever tried growing up was dance. Last year I did sprint, so I did 100m and 200m, and at the end of the year I started to practice javelin and long jump, and hopefully this year I can try high jump. Track is definitely something I want to stick with in high school and keep working towards getting better at.

![]() I regularly participate in 2 different activities, dance, and track. Dance is my more often sport that I do and I have been doing it for about 12 years now. Everyone says that they danced but it's usually when you are little and you do tap/jazz class or hip hop/acro class for a year and then you quit or you stick with it as I did. Many people say that dance isn't a sport but “The International Olympics Committee recognizes dance as a sport.” We are athletes, especially in college at The Ohio State University the dance team uses the workout room and clearly has muscle just like any other athlete. Yes, we do go on stage and wear make-up with our hair looking nice and these nice costumes, but all of the hard work that goes into that is just like a football player in a game. We are trained to make dancing look easy and clean and appealing to watch. |
